I do not know that much about business schools. Someone mentioned Regis University. I believe that it is relatively affordable, 100% on line, and a well respected Jesuit University. As an institution it is in the Top Tier of Regional Universities (West) http://www.usnews.com/usnews/edu/ugrad01/drglance_1363.htm

Another option which is 100% on line and more affordable than Touro is Jones International University (cost under 12,000 for the program). However, it has certainly not been around long enough to meet your well respected category.

I would check out Regis. It probably meets all categories: respected, 100% on line, and affordable.

Incidentally, there is a web site called run by a poster here called Jonnies.... Has a large list of MBA programs offered by DE & requiring various amounts of residency. Hopefully, someone can post it. It includes Duke University's 80,000 + MBA.

    Good luck.

Actually Duke's MBA is almost $100K.
My MBA list is at the address shown below.
If you know some other MBA programs that not in my list, please let me know.

    Cheers,

Santa Clara will soon offer a online MBA with one weekend per month on-campus study.
    Is it ok for you?

"So I'd like to find the best, most challenging and most well-respected MBA program available that'll let me attend via the 'net."

Most challenging, most well-respected, 100% non-resident MBA... methinks Heriot-Watt would win the award.

The Santa Clara Weekend MBA program sounds cool, but, upon reading further, it's not happening. According to their web site (I really had to dig to find this):

"Santa Clara University has determined to delay introduction of the Weekend MBA program for an indefinite period of time. We encourage you to investigate the Evening MBA and Executive MBA programs."

In any case it was a 33 month program, versus the 20 month UB program, and the information I dug up on the Weekend MBA didn't include any online component... ?

Thanks, though. I got excited for a few minutes there!

Ooops, sorry. The Weekend MBA might well not be the online MBA that you're talking about, so please, tell me more about what you've heard? (as it turns out, I'm going to an open house at SCU this Wednesday, so I'll ask them about it too).

Also, in regard to Regis, while it is rated in undergrad education, it isn't rated at all in its busines program, which is all that I'm really interested in, for obvious reasons. I don't see Heriot-Watt in any rankings (or even on the list) for business schools at US News, Business Week or the Financial Times. ?

You could check out Kolej Damansara Utama, located in Malaysia. I don't know anything about accreditation in Malaysia, but KDU seems to have the necessary credentials. KDU offers a distance MBA program, that while not delivered to your home, is "modular and flexible." The school has partnerships with the likes of Murdoch University, the University of Manchester, and Touro College to expand its reach. I don't know if KDU will offer the flexibility you need, but if you are looking for a DL program with recognition in Malaysia, this might be the way to go.

oops. i didn't check it again for a while. I don't know it has been postponed. sorry for the out-dated information. then how about florida or indiana's program? since you have such high GMAT score, it is better to go for a better MBA program, IMHO.

Heriot-Watt isn't a top 10 European school... which is what it takes to get into US News / Business week. Not sure about Financial Times.

The Economist has a publication called "Which MBA... a guide to the world's best programs". Heriot-Watt is one of the 100 programs listed (from around the globe) and is, I believe, the only distance learning program listed that is 100% non-resident.

I also recently recieved some information from the New York Institute of Finance which included some promotional information regarding the program.

Touro University International (branch campus of Touro College NY) is worth considering. I got my MBA and now enrolled in their Ph.D. program. Highly recommended and regionally accredited by the Middle States.

Just as a followup, I went to the Santa Clara University evening MBA open house last night. I was amazed at how young most of the people attending were: I'd estimate that the average age was about 25-26 (though the school says that the average age of an evening MBA student is 29). More distressing to me was that the representative from the admissions office said that they didn't require *any* work experience, but liked "at least a year or two".

While there, I asked the associate Dean about a possible distance education program that they might offer (as suggested in this thread) and he said that they had been considering a net-based MBA but that it was on 'indefinite hold'.

I also found out that UNC had been exploring a Web-based MBA but that they also have their plans on indefinite hold.

So I applied to the University of Baltimore program. I'll let you know if I'm accepted! :)
