I've been trying to look up information on the average GPA for graduating MBA's. So far, the only thing I've found is information on GPA's required for MBA admittance. My GPA is currently 3.7, but I'm afraid it's going to take a dip after this Global Business class that wraps up this week. I won't graduate until December of this year so I have time to pull it up, but I am curious to know if there any GPA "averages" out there for MBA holders.

    I'd appreciate any feedback.

I can't tell you the averages either. However, 3.7 is very good! Even if you drop down to a 3.6 or even 3.5, you are still in line for recognition from your dean and you should gain admittance into all but the very top doctoral programs. No worries!

Thanks for the feedback. I have actually given some consideration to applying to a doctorate program at some point in the future. I was fortunate enough to gain admittance into a regionally accredited MBA program given that both of my degrees are unaccredited (I started with Liberty and I hated the experience, but I was able to find another RA school that was willing to accept me). I'll just keep plugging along and I'm confident I'll be able to 'escape' with at least a 3.5 in the end.

I have an MS in chemistry. No one has ever asked me what my GPA is when applying for a job, submitting a paper for publication, etc. As far as I can tell, the only time GPA matters is when applying to an academic program. Maybe it's relevant when applying for university teaching positions also, I don't know.

In the UK, I didn't have a GPA. When WES "translated" my transcript, they said I had a 3.2. Since all graduate programs require at least a 3.0, and many MBA programs hand out A's and B's like candy, UF cared more about my GRE.

    edowave,

You bring up an interesting point. I was reading an article recently which postulated that MBA's (outside of top B-schools) are "too easy to obtain" these days. Even though my school is not a top B-school it does have a high ranking in US News & World Report so I can only hope that'll ultimately count for something.
