Anyone know of any totally non-residential master's degrees in creative writing?

Creative writing and music are two of my other areas of interest; I've published a book of poetry, and I'm an English teacher.

    Any info appreciated.

Based on the criteria you stated, all my suggestions are flawed. Nonetheless, they may serve as a good standard of comparison when you find the program that best fits your needs.
    Norwich University (http://www.norwich.edu)
It's the degree you want but with a small residency requirement.
    Lesley College (http://www.lesley.edu)
It's totally non-residential but the degree would be either a Masters in Independent Studies or a Masters in Interdisciplinary Studies. Otherwise, my best suggestion is try the University of South Africa. They offer just about everything and are especially affordable.

  3. You could also look at California State U, which has a distance education program. Consider Curriculum B at the following URL: http://www.csudh.edu/hux/courses.html

Your final project can be a creative work instead of a thesis.

    Creative Project: HUX 599B
The student pursues a special presentation involving areas such as painting, sculpture, graphic art; music compositions; poetry, novels; playwriting, screenwriting, and film. These projects should only be undertaken by students who have an extensive background and/or an undergraduate degree in one of these areas, and who have continued to concentrate in this area during the course of their HUX studies. Generally, the same formatting guidelines as Theses apply to Creative Projects.

I'm currently enrolled in Curriculum A.

    Hope this helps.
