Jacksonville State University, previously noticed around here for its online programs with in-state tuition for all in subjects including emergency management (including a low-res Doctor of Science) and business and public administration, is adding to its roster of online programs.

These all seem to have been added since late 2018:
    • BS in Criminal Justice with concentration in Corrections
    • MA in English
    • MA in History
    • MA in Liberal Studies
    • MSEd in English Language Arts (6-12)
    • MEd in General Social Studies (6-12)
    • MEd in History (6-12)
JSU makes this bold offer too: "If you don't see what you are looking for, please contact us and tell us what you are looking for. We add new programs often, based on interest level and market demand."

Where there’s a placeholder listing reading "more information to come," we can make an educated guess about the online program design if JSU currently offers an on-campus program in the same. For instance, their on-campus MA in Liberal Studies is 30 sh, with at least 18 sh coming from two or more choices from the following: Anthropology, Biology, Computer Science and Information Systems, Criminal Justice, Drama, Economics, Emergency Management, English, Geography, History, Music, Political Science, and Psychology.

The remaining 12 sh "may be completed in other fields selected by the students and advisor,” suggesting applied professional subjects not listed above, like education or marketing, might work there. Like the liberal studies programs at Western New Mexico University and Fort Hays State University where some subjects are offered on-campus only, JSU may not offer graduate courses online in that entire subject list from Anthropology to Psychology. But several of the subjects above are ones in which JSU offers a full online master’s. And there could be eligible courses lurking in online master’s with other titles, like Economics in the MBA program or Political Science in the MPA.

JSU's general institutional rule on graduate transfer credit has a max of 6 sh toward a 30 sh program, 9 toward a 33, and 12 toward a 36 or more, with a six-year time limit.

Tidbit: Jacksonville State University isn’t in Jacksonville Florida, metro pop 1.5 million. It’s in Jacksonville Alabama, pop 12.5 k. It’s the local university for the Anniston–Oxford metropolitan area, pop 112 k. Jacksonville University, an unrelated private nonprofit, is in Jacksonville Florida.
