    Mail forwarding/scanning service - International

Just wondering if anyone uses a mail forwarding service when they travel for a long time, especially in a different country?
My cousin usually is alright with being away a few weeks or a couple of months, but maybe next year, they'll be away longer.
Any recommendations for which one to use? I don't use any and haven't read any reviews on a few of them, Thanks in advance!

I think this will depend on which country your cousin is in, and where the mail is going. I imagine you have more options if your cousin will be having US mail forwarded to Canada (or vice versa), as opposed to Asia or Europe, for example. My sister runs a small business and uses a re-shipper to cut down on postage for US orders. She ships to the re-shipper right across the border and then they ship it to its ultimate destination at the cheaper domestic US rates.

(Family used to do something similar for flights, driving to Rochester NY and taking a domestic flight to their destination instead of paying the extra cost for international flights from Toronto.)

He's in WA state and looking to forward things to his international address if needed, otherwise, the option he's looking at is to have them "scan and email him". I'll just point him to a few sites I've looked at with these options... he doesn't really need anything forwarded unless it requires his signatures or something. A scan of documents or contents is basically it, so many providers out there that have this service... Yeah, that's what I was thinking, I'll just recommend him a few I found, he'll do research himself... I wanted to see if there was a recommended service, as I haven't used any as I didn't have a need for it.

A lot of people in the Caribbean have an address in Miami with one of the mail forwarders, both for documents and for parcels.

This is true. I had a Florida address while living in Jamaica. Some stores only ship within the contiguous United States. My stuff would be in Jamaica within a few days of arriving at the mail forwarding company. I believe they had twice a week flights.

I posted a suggestion on the other forum that has worked well for me, but I forgot to note how expensive the forwarding can be. It's likely between $45-70 to send a flat-rate priority mail envelope from the US to another country. ($45 to Canada, $67 for European countries like France, Germany, United Kingdom, etc.) That's the fee charged by the post office and not the forwarding company. Way too expensive (IMO) to forward anything but bank cards or similarly important documents.
