Liberty Dumps Philosophy Department :(

Faculty members notified by mail.

Much of it seems to be based on the Facebook post of Dr. Mark Foreman who said that Liberty killed the whole department and now he's unemployed.

There is a Mark Foreman at Liberty. By all accounts he appears to be the Mark Foreman at Liberty. Now, that doesn't mean it went down the way it is being described. And maybe those mainstream sources are not picking it up because they don't have verification beyond the facebook post of one faculty member (which is good). But I don't think I would pause too heavily on this one.

 

I noticed that none of the major media outlets carried this story. However, several other websites published on this topic.

All those appear to be just regurgitating the same story. Will be interesting.
