Taped the second Kerry-Bush debate and viewed it again. I picked up on something I didn't catch the first viewing. Kerry said he always believed Saddam Hussein was a threat. He said he believed Hussein was a threat in 1997 under Clinton. Then, later in the debate he said Bush focused on Iraq that was never a threat. Don't play semantics with me. Hussein was Iraq and Iraq was Hussein prior to the invasion..
Kerry was referring to Iraq as a terrorism threat connected with 9/11. You remember the line of reasoning: Iraq with WMD's. Oops, there is none. Well, then Iraq must be a hotbed of general terrorism. Oops no connection there either. Well, then Saddam was a mean guy. Bush/Cheney wanted this war. Nothing was going to stand in their way - certainly not sound reasoning. I guess they were just counting on people not paying attention. Another oops.

Bush, 8/5/04 I understand that last one was a slip of the tongue...but I still think its funny.
