John Bear shamelessly seeks advice on whether to consider a libel suit.

I have had some communication with attorney Minatoya regarding the subject matter of this thread. It is ongoing and I'm unwilling to disclose here what's been discussed just yet... that is, if I even can, when all's said and done. But I will have at least something to report here -- even if it's only that I gave him my opinion and suggested how he could remedy his error and then that he subsequently didn't reply. I'm not saying that anything like that has happened. I'm just saying that I'll report here -- to the degree that I can -- even if something like that is how it all ends-up.

I really appreciate the recent threads, although I confess I find Mr. DesElms intriguingly confusing. If he wouid be willing to communicate--formally or informally--confidentially or on the record--email or telephone--I would be pleased.

Mr. DesElms has indeed shared information with me, and offered to continue so doing, for which I am grateful. He surely wasn't trying to keep information from me.

I'm in the very busy final throes of a major new cookbook project, and traveling a lot this summer, so my attention to degree-related matters is diminished.
