It's a sad day :( no Health Care for all Americans. I think it was something we needed, insurance at my wifes work is $1,400 a month for our family (we don't have it) and my work does not offer it.

It would still have to pass the Senate. SSDD

While I did not support the current bill, I do agree something needs to be done.

Sorry to be off topic, but I found this laughable. If you don't want the poor to have abortions, then why do you defund one of the nation's largest providers of condoms to the poor? I guess that will really show them, won't it.

Sorry to hijack; now back to your regularly scheduled program.

None of the tax funds were even used for abortions. But yes your correct!

Actually satellite launches are never a secret - the US Air force issues public notices to ships and aircraft to be clear of the launch vehicle ground track for each launch.

It has to pass the Senate and the Presidents Desk, in the first case even if the Republican get a few more seats the minority can bog the repeal down in procedure for a long time unless they get 61 seats. Its very rarely happened.

And Obama must be voted out with the way the governors are mucking things up in two years they might vote him back in out of disgust for the Republican agenda with luck. Then they need a veto override majority not that easy to get.

As for defunding it most of this is the law of the land but I expected them to pull this. As for the courts they at most will end up taking out the mandate then regulational penalties that is outside a law can compel compliance. Say for every month outside a grace period you opt out your premiums will go up 1% a month when you do get it and for five years after you sign up and your employer gets that penalty if he hires you. I would think that would get people on board.

Nothing gets defunded (or funded) until either the president signs the bill or in the case of a presidential veto an override by a 2/3 majority of both the House and the Senate. Will a govt shutdown occur?
It is going to be very interesting to see how all this cost cutting is going to work.

Slightly off topic but I found that the interest on the national debt for the five years 2005-2009 was 2-trillion dollars.

    I don't know.
I'm not sure about this case, but it is always a safe assumption.
    Of the humanoid variety, yes.

I normally watch MSNBC, they lean on the left...is that an acceptable news outlet for you? Is it ok to post a thread from them without you jacking up my thread?

Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.
I love the fact that the op has a police interceptor camaro, that is cool in my book, but government run healthcare is not right for this country. This country was founded as an alternative to government run England which had more creature comforts but less liberty. Give me liberty or give me death. Well maybe not death :)
