Afforai is the AI-integrated reference manager that helps researchers manage, annotate, cite papers, and conduct literature reviews reliably with Artificial Intelligence. Is it legal?
It depends on what it is used for. For example, guns may be legal but shooting someone with a gun is less likely legal.
I might be missing something, but it doesn't look that powerful. It combines a summarizer with a reference manager. Those have already existed separately. The only thing that this does differently is that it adds citations to the summaries, but it's very basic citing. They're only adding citations to the end of a paraphrased paragraph. I also don't know if the program is rewording things or just trimming them down. If it's just trimming things down, then you'd still need to do the work of paraphrasing or find a program to reword things for you. I watched a demo on YouTube, and the program only seems capable of doing a one to two-page literature review. You'd have to give multiple prompts to try to get a full literature review, but even then, I expect the program to repeat some things between the prompt responses. It just doesn't seem to cut down on time that much, and the citation style is questionable. There are no citations in the middle of paragraphs, and there are no direct quotes.
