I don't think there is any significance between a Master of Science in Information Technology and a Master of Information Technology. I think it is just a title name. Information Technology is too broad; each program mainly aims at essential computer architecture, security risks, databases, information, etc.
Generally, I usually look at the content or subjects taught for the degree of choice, the name of the degree does sometimes count; for me, I wouldn't really mind if it's a MAS, MSIT, or something else...
