Eric Coyle, who will graduate soon with five bachelor's degrees - an achievement kicking up controversy on his campus. I don't find further info about him online. Did anyone hear this before?
I wonder if this is him…. https://www.azcommerce.net/media/1544601/pop-sdc-az-2017-sdcbidc-anlmeeting-ecbio.pdf
I agree with the Provost that being able to complete 64 credits a term (simultaneous enrollment in at least 20 courses) and earning A's and A-'s might suggest that the quality of the instruction or assessment is not up to snuff. A People Search shows an entry for Eric H Coyle, age 47. Being 24 in 1998 would make him 47, so that lines up: https://radaris.com/p/Eric/Coyle/ Edit: I went right to NYT article, but the CS Monitor article provides more specifics: Even 14 courses is an overwhelming amount. It lists residencies potentially in Nevada, West Virginia, New York, Texas, Kansas, DC, Washington, Virginia, Arizona. A search of the Bar in those states did not turn up any Eric Coyle. The Georgetown face-book for 1998 (the kind that inspired the eponymous social network) shows Eric Coyle on page 9 of the PDF: https://repository.library.georgetown.edu/bitstream/handle/10822/1042234/gulc_facebook_1998.pdf?sequence=1&isAllowed=y So we know he got into Georgetown and is hopefully living in a good life. My guess is he consciously chose not to have an internet presence.
It is a great feat, there are so many individuals who are amazing as students. This determination/drive and the goal of finishing their educational journey is tremendous. Numerous people have tried taking a couple or more Bachelors degrees during their undergrad, it's more common than you think, but I wouldn't recommend it the old fashion way of "taking courses". Each school has their "challenge exam option", which should be much easier and straightforward. I hope in the future there more options for accelerating and compacting education studies... For those who want to read more and can't access those two sites, here's a news article. Or he could be this guy: https://www.sciotopost.com/coyle-accused-sex-crimes-children-placed-200000-bond-circleville-court/
That person is 25 in 2018, making them born around 1993. They couldn't be a UNLV senior at the age of 5.
