I'm presently working as manager finance in mid-size company and would like to enrol for MBA so that i would get additional skills for career progression and if possible to lauch a business venture one day. I'm about enrolling for distance learning MBA. After making my serious research of the program available . I have narrowed my choice to these two prestigious Business school:
    1. Instituto empresa Global communities MBA( 1 Year option)
pros:1- 1 year , very short and quicker to complete.
2- MBA from top rank Business school ,outside usa.
    3- Entrepreuneal core subjects available
    COS:1-Always online..
    2. few finance courses as core subject
    3. it looks like , general MBA
    2. Manchester Business school MBA for finance managers(3yrs)
pros: 1 award the same degree as full- time student.
    2. MBA - finance from top european BIZ SCHOOL.
    3 Cost advantage
    4.textbooks for real distance learning
    cos: 1- longer period(3yrs)
2-Have to attend many residences( workshops)
which of these two MBA programs can make different in my future career, if i want to be highly sought international manager.
DesElms, Teds and others your input will be highly appreciated.

Manchester has a great int'l reputation. I'd also consider University of London Imperial or Royal Holloway. And doesn't UNISA have an MBA program online? What about them?

IE enjoys a great reputation. Here it is considered an elite school. My brother in law went there to get his MBA, and became an executive at a major company in a very little time. It is not cheap, though....;)

Thanks for the reply little fauss , but the MBA programs run by University of london Imperial collage or Royal Hollow are not in the same league as my choice IE or manchester and also the MBA award by unisa is MBL which is unique to south African educational titles.
I totally agreed with JLV that IE is an elite school in europe and one of the frequent school that appear in top world MBA ranking that make online learning available,While manchester has a very good reputation in financial sector in europe. I stand to be corrected if what i'm saying is not right.

Imperial-London is right there with Manchester in terms of international ranking, certainly in the same league. You're right that Royal Holloway, though, while it's a good school with an international reputation, it's not up there with any of the above. IE is, of course, ranked higher by a long shot than any of them. I didn't know IE had a distance program, but as I look on their website, I see they offer a couple.

The IE program is rather expensive (about twice the cost of London-Imperial and 50% more than Manchester), but if you can afford it and they accept you, you'll have great academic credentials for life.

    Hi,

Both of them (and also IC) are good in terms of your goals.

some people voiced out their opinions already and I don't want to repeat them.

But for networking and collaboration opportunities. would you prefer 1) Online, or 2) some residential workshops ?

I noticed that both are being the "cons" of your selection.

If money is not a concern and you want to finish it quick, IE is probably the choice.
