    I just thought it was al hugely off topic.... Glad you liked the funny, uhm... my best man at my wedding is part Fillipino and we (you and I) have talked about lumpia in the past. Again, going off topic so i end it here.

    Sounds like you can like it or lumpia it to me.

    The Ph/F thing is simple.

    "Philippines" is an English word.

    "(Islas) Filipinas" is Spanish.

    The adjectival/personal forms passed into English in the Spanish form early in US colonial administration; the adjectival/object forms are ambivalent (one sees both "the Philippine De La Salle University which offers the D.A. degree" and "the Filipino De La Salle University which offers the D.A. degree").

    Which De La Salle does, but--sigh--not by DL.
