How to search research databases by affiliation?

    Hi all,

I think this is appropriate here versus Off-Topic, but a mod can move at their discretion of course.

We sometimes talk about doctorates (especially PhD) programs in terms of their impact. Once the student is awarded their degree, do they publish? Can they publish? Essentially - do they continue making scholarly impact or do they go back to their day jobs having crossed the bar to do research but not necessarily able to do it again.

Like a Reservist in the military who completes Basic Training but then does not continue to practice those skills. You know they could do it at one point, but a year, two years, 5 years later? Maybe not.

Anyway: that brings me to the question at hand: is there a way in Google Scholar, Ebscohost, JSTOR or another academic search engine to search for papers by the graduate school they attended or their affiliation? This would make it simpler to assess the value of a graduate program because we could see what those graduates are doing and get a sense for what kind of papers they're publishing.

It wouldn't eliminate survivor bias (maybe that one grad with 5 publications 3 years after graduation is the only one who succeeded and 25 went before her with 0), but it would help.

There are various databases and conferences that postgraduates publish their peer-reviewed research articles. They can join Academia.com for their paper and profile.

Here is Dr. Simon Celeveland, my former classmate at Nova Southeastern University, and currently a Professor at Georgetown University

I work on the technology area on my research papers, I pulled various articles from IEEE Xplorer, which published by practitioners who collaborate with academic institutions professors. Sometimes, a group of practitioners just publish their conference papers.
