    Re: RE: Kaplan

Please don't think I'm an advocate for Kaplan. I honestly don't know much about them but I looked into their admissions policies and this is what says regarding placement examinations (taking directly from their web page):

    Placement Requirements and Provisional Status

Students who do not possess at least an associate's degree (A.S., A.A., or A.A.S.) must complete placement exams in English and math during their first term and achieve a minimum score determined by the College. If the student scores below the cut-off score on either exam, he/she will be placed into the proper fundamental course and will be assigned "provisional status" within his/her degree program. The student will remain on provisional status until the designated fundamental courses are completed. If the student's GPA falls below 1.0 while on provisional status, he/she will be dismissed from the College.

Students who do not need to take the course CS110: Human Dynamics must complete all required placement exams prior to starting classes.

The following programs are exempt from the Math Placement Exam:
    Crime Scene Technician Certificate
    Pathway to Paralegal Certificate
Terrorism and National Security Management Certificate

So in sum, as it appears in my previous post to you, it does seem that Kaplan does have what you call remediation courses and English & Math placement examinations for their students.

It would appear so. However, you can take it from someone who works there, it isn't.
