Actually, the weather is only ONE of our many advantages...

OUR government has thus far utterly FAILED to force a foreign godless system of weights and measures upon US. WE are still able to use the ANCIENT units of inches, feet, quarts, furlongs, pounds, ounces, slugs, and FAHRENHEIT.

In central Kansas we had several consecutive days over 100. It has been miserable, but this morning it was 58 (record low) and the high today is 80. I ride a motorcycle and it was actually cold on the ride to work.

Where is global warming when you need it?

72 right now in central Indiana. We were sweltering the past few days with heat indices of 109!

    Hot? HOT?!?

It's been over 110 degrees here every day for the last month, and we're not even in the hot months yet.

I went running yesterday around 1400 and I thought my shoes were going to catch on fire. As I ran, I started thinking about what would happen if I passed out from the heat. I realized I was more worried about passing out in the street and burning myself than I was about the passing out.

And yes, I know it's not smart to run in the heat of the day, but it's the best way to acclimatize yourself over here. :D

I'm right with ya, Ryan, although I chose the less expedient way of acclimation; I've been in this part of the world six years! I avoid being outdoors from 1300-1700 as much as I can -- it's not difficult to understand the midday siesta tradition here!

Take care and keep your head down,
    Adrienne

    Angela,

My wife is Mexican, so it's like a second home! We have a flat there. (I enjoyed writing flat for a change!).

Don't worry we won't be in Aberdeen forever. Once the MBA is done (if I ever get the final approval from HR!) I will look for a Latin America posting...and I certainly don't think we will retire to Aberdeen! Guadalajara is far more likely...

From a rare blue sky day in Aberdeen,

    Dave
