Rewards for Justice is offering a reward of up to $7 million for information on Hizballah key leader Ibrahim Aqil. Ibrahim Aqil, also known as Tahsin, serves on Hizballah’s highest military body, the Jihad Council. During the 1980s, Aqil was a principal member of Islamic Jihad Organization—Hizballah’s terrorist cell—that claimed the bombings of the U.S. Embassy in Beirut in April 1983, which killed 63 people, and the U.S. Marine barracks in October 1983, which killed 241 U.S. personnel.
Hezbollah fires hundreds of missiles into Israel. When the IDF goes in and targets a leader of Hezbollah and blows him up the poor hypocrites of Hezbollah get outraged. They should be more upset with their own Hezbollah leadership that decided to put little bombs into their own pockets.(As discussed in another thread, it hasn't been reported that Hezbollah had the little bombs placed in the pagers and Walkie Talkies. It just make more sense to me than Israel somehow getting the little bombs placed in there.) Just in case anyone is thinking I've changed my tune, I have not. Netanyahu is horrible and needs to implement a ceasefire and the return of all the hostages and stop the stupid endless war in Gaza.
On September 20th, 1983, 17 Americans were killed in a suicide bombing against the U.S. Embassy in Beirut Today, on the 41 st anniversary of the embassy bombing, Ibrahim Aqeel, one of the masterminds behind the attack, who served as the Head of #Hezbollah's Operations Unit, was eliminated by the IDF in a targeted intelligence-based strike in Beirut.
I think the Israelis followed up the pager operation by bombing anywhere that the pager explosions had been concentrated, rightly figuring those were covert Hezbollah bases.
Hezbollah acknowledged that the airstrike had killed two of its most senior commanders and 14 other members of the terror group who were meeting in the basement of a Beirut residential building. The devastating strike was a further blow to the Iranian proxy and brought the sides closer to a full-scale war. The military named 11 top Radwan officials killed in the strike. The Radwan Force has spearheaded Hezbollah’s ground operations in south Lebanon.
JERUSALEM (AP) — The Israeli military on Monday called on residents of southern Lebanon to immediately evacuate homes and other buildings where Hezbollah stores weapons and said it was carrying out “extensive strikes” against the militant group. It was the first warning of its kind in nearly a year of steadily escalating conflict and came after a particularly heavy exchange of fire on Sunday. Hezbollah launched around 150 rockets, missiles and drones into northern Israel in retaliation for strikes that killed a top commander and dozens of fighters. Drone footage of Hezbollah attempt to shoot DR-3 missile from a house in Lebanon. ---- Israel dropped some bunker penetrating bombs that able to hit the target 150 meters below the ground. They warned the civilians to leave.
Earlier this morning, the Air Force carried out strikes on dozens of targets in southern Lebanon as part of a pre-emptive strike, including the Tzur area, Marj Ayon, Nabatia, and the Bekaa area. In the centers that were attacked, underground arrays were built for rocket launch sites, and the attacks included targets of a new type. Among the targets that were attacked was the city of al-Harmal in Baalbak district. This is a target that contained Hezbollah's long-range missiles due to the long range of the attack. The purpose of the attacks is to deny the organization from carrying out all-out shooting in the immediate time frame.
Again, Lerner: (1) this is not illegal, (2) any legislation to change that would be unconstitutional, and (3) you not liking that doesn't mean it's hard to understand.
It's not illegal, I understand. But it's alarming. One more destructive force against the democracy, that is protected by democracy. This should be outlawed, honoring and showing support to those who killed Americans.
We are a country of laws. What that means in this case is that a dictator can't just declare that certain folks committed murder. The law is that people are not guilty until proven so in a court of law. If it can't be said that those people are guilty without it being proven then people can't be charged with crimes that would assume that they are guilty. Actually I don't think it is even against the law to say nice things about bad murderers. So it wouldn't matter even if he was proven guilty in a court of law. The closest relevant law would probably be giving aid and comfort to a terrorist group. But, I don't think that would apply to this case either.
