Ironically, Thomas Edison's mother pulled him out of school after the teachers told her that little Tommy was uneducable. In a case of true poetic justice, the very state college from which you graduate bears his name.

Congratulations on *your* achievement. Yes, you should take all the credit. Your Chicago PS teachers don't deserve any of it, as they apparently only tried to dumb you down.

I am a displaced Chicagoan (grew up on the So. side). I currently live in Silly-con Valley. I know what you mean about the public school system. I did spend some time in Catholic school, but spent a lot of time in public school as well. They were not the most supportive of places to be.

Any plans for a MA?
