Excelsior does not allow students to be enrolled in two undergraduate degree programs at the same time. They can be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program and an undergraduate certificate program.

Excelsior requires new credits for subsequent degrees. When I applied for a subsequent degree at Excelsior, they excluded about 30 of the credits that were earned before the last degree conferral to make room for new credits. The ROI wasn't there to take that many undergraduate courses for a BA in Natural Science when I could just finish my master's degree in medical sciences. TESU and COSC have similar policies. Second bachelor's degrees require new credits earned after the conferral of the last degree.

@sanantone , Thanks for the info. I highly advise the OP to ask admissions, advising, or enrolment and even the registrar to verify a few things. I don't know if all schools allow or disallow concurrent degrees, but I am referring to that, not subsequent degrees.

@skirtlet , Here's an example from COSC for concurrent degrees: https://www.charteroak.edu/catalog/current/ug_admission_policies_matriculation/ug_concurrent_degree_policy.php
You just need to have 30 credits that are different, you can literally finish your degree at NYU and apply for graduation at COSC with a BSGS individualized or liberal studies (with concentration in ABC/XYZ). The concentration you should have is whatever "matches" your current credits, you may have enough for 1 or 2 concentrations. So, to recap a few things.

    1) Email both Excelsior, NYU SPS and ask about concurrent degrees, how it works for their institution - just be honest and tell them your story (a brief, concise one).
    2) You should also email Excelsior/NYU SPS to find out if you're authorized to graduate at the same time without the need for extra courses as this is for a concurrent degree and not subsequent degree.
    3) If you get a favorable response from BOTH and they BOTH allow this, then continue on the path. If NYU SPS doesn't allow this concurrent studies, then forget everything, just finish it there. If Excelsior doesn't allow this, then easy - plead with them or switch to one that does, such as COSC, or UMPI.

If Excelsior allows - In regards to Excelsior's yearly enrolment fee, it's simple. You're going to take 13 credits vs the 7 required, each year requires 6 credits for enrolment, otherwise it's $225/year. Take them slowly and split them up. That will be two years worth for you to complete the NYU SPS BA SS. If you need 3 years - easy, pay the extra $225/year and you're good for graduation on the final year! As I mentioned in the other thread - Taking 13 credits at Excelsior is practically the same price as taking 7 credits... https://www.excelsior.edu/partner/sophia/
