The online non-degree continuing education unit of Harvard Business School previously branded as HBX or Harvard Business X is rebranding to "Harvard Business School Online."

The School Online tells holders of HBX certificates, "your LinkedIn profile will automatically change to Harvard Business School Online (as long you chose the pre-set HBX credential when you originally added it to your profile). If you did not choose that option, you may manually update your LinkedIn profile and / or resume to reflect the new Harvard Business School Online name." Another FAQ: "Am I now an alum of Harvard Business School? No, if you've completed a course with HBX or Harvard Business School Online, you are a certificate holder, not a graduate nor an alumnus/alumnae."

As much as I love the prestigious brand, but adding the world "ONLINE" on your credentials seem to be devalue the quality. Maybe Harvard Business School Professional Program or Harvard Business School for Professionals sounds more credibility.

Well, 'mainline' Harvard Business School is principally for professionals too. HBS has one master's program, a two-year on-campus MBA. The average entering student is 27. For candidates applying directly from postsecondary school without full-time work experience, there's a deferred admissions process, the 2+2 Program. Apply by 2020, and if successful you'll have a spot in the MBA class of 2024 (entering in 2022). In between acceptance and entry, you're expected to get two years professional work experience.
