So in the name of equality, everyone gets a degree from a school with a crappy sounding name.

I think I would much rather have a degree from Pooch. Did anyone actually ask the black students what they wanted?

It's certainly an uninspired (and uninspiring) name. But deliberately neutral.

My guess is that the Potchefstroom campus will continue to refer to itself by the "Potchefstroom" moniker. It will be interesting to see what becomes of the "Christian Higher Education" part.

Would that make it more "geo-politically" correct in the world scheme of things or is it heading in the right "direction".

What a stupid, flavorless, confusion-begetting, history-obliterating, sounds-like-a-millish-imitation name. Makes one want to, uh, pukke.

Now that it is North-West does that put it in Oregon? ;)

North-by-Northwest University's announcement is filled with amusing (and quite literal) double-speak. Maybe it's part of "the language reality of each campus".

Maybe it's time to change Harvard to North-East University. The name Harvard offends stupid people everywhere and a name change is warranted for the sake of reconciliation.
