This article is mostly about communication but it certainly explains some of the thinking in modern HR. I find this to be true where I work as well. http://www.findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m4422/is_n6_v14/ai_19717342
Yes, good article. Ouch, that website sure is obnoxious! Flashing banner ads, pop-ups, junk that distracts from a good article... This is ammo for all those who post here worrying about what school is better or whatever. I agree that name recognition will put some resumes on the top of the pile, but if you can bring something "different" (note - not "better"), then you might be seen in better light. The article also mentions the need for committment - something all distance learners have experience with! Make sure your interviewer knows! Thanks for posting.
Off topic: Firefox rocks! Really? I use Firefox with the Adblock extension, so for me there aren't any ads on it at all, nor popups. And since I don't use Internet Explorer, no site can infect my system through ActiveX controls. -=Steve=-
Thanks for the reminder. I have firefox on the laptop and you are correct - NO problems and as clean as can be. My comment was from the viewing experience provided me on the desktop. That is the hokey conglomeration of SBC, Yahoo, a piece of IE, and who knows what else... Time to start switching everything over! Have firefox day!
