I have a pretty hefty library of books that a retired professor friend of mine gave to me when she moved. Well, I need to move soon, so I want to lighten the moving stress as much as I can. So here's the deal - I can't sell them on Amazon (I tried, since my finances are tight - they aren't current - but not that old, and still very useful, IMO). Most are psychology and sociology textbooks - I have a few double copies of the same title, even. If anyone is interested, I'll start to list the titles, and if you pay the shipping - they are yours. We really love books in our family - and just tossing them would be horrible. I'll keep a few that would be useful to me, but there is so much here that might help self-learners.
Post the titles, I'm sure there are some psych and sociology groupies here that would love to have them!

I was sure I had at least one in child psych, but I just looked & don't see it. I'll keep looking - I'm a bit sore, & having a hard time walking around this morning. Nothing in education (my friend who gave them to me had lots, but I wasn't interested - at the time).

I turned in years of old textbooks to the local university which was collecting books to send to Africa. Check with local churches who travel to other countries. Last resort, check with recyclers.
My apologies to all. I came down with a really bad cold AND my keyboard died on me. In addition to that, I'm being harassed by my nutcake landlord, not that it means anything regarding this. Just need to rant again - I mean, gosh, this year has been the WORST! :wtf1: It's like my life is a really, really bad country-western song. :grumpy: Anyway, enough of me complaining - although I feel like starting a blog with just the notes I've been getting from this landlord - it would be funny if I wasn't actually living here... So, with the meager strength I have right now, I wrote down a few of the books. There are more, but I feel like crap. But hey, at least my keyboard arrived in the mail! I was trying to use my son's netbook, but man, those things are tiny - tiny screen, tiny keyboard for my aching hands. Made me feel even older than I am. Might have some mispellings here. I will double check on the spelling of authors later - feeling too sick to do it now. Free Textbooks - til Dec.15! Sorry guys, for not posting earlier. Was so, so sick for awhile. Things have been very hectic - finally found an apt., :banana: and I've had constant harassment over stupid, idiotic things fr my landlord, :smashfreakB: to make my stress level through the roof. I used to sell textbooks online through Amazon. The post office has free envelopes for sending things by Priority Mail, which was so convenient I often used them even when people had only requested standard shipping. I found that most textbooks would fit in them. For those that didn't, there are various sizes of free box for Priority Mail as well, cushion the book with crumpled up newspaper and you should be good to go. If you don't want to send them Priority Mail, then as an alternative you could cut two pieces of rectangular cardboard the same size as the cover of the book, place one on the cover and the other under the back of the book, then wrap the whole thing in heavy paper, like from a dissected paper shopping bag. That should be sturdy enough and you can send that at the media mail rate, which is really cheap. I don't want any of them, BTW. But thanks for the offer! -=Steve=-
Thanks for the suggestions. I'm asking for people to pay for shipping, so I'll let any prospective book hounds decide about which shipping to choose. Now - back to packing. Yikes - trying not to get overwhelmed!
