The website says it is intended for Congressional staffers.

How hard was it to apply for all of you who are not on Capitol Hill?

When I attended in early 2024 program was as follows
    • view and complete feedback forms for all 3 Required (lectures/webinars and Q&A sessions)
    • view and complete a feedback form for at least 1 Pre-Recorded (lectures/webinars)
    • attend and complete a feedback form for at least 1 "Hot Topics" (lectures/webinars)
    • either view a second Pre-Recorded session or attend a second "Hot Topics" (lectures/webinars) and complete a feedback form
A total of 6 sessions are required to obtain the certificate
    • 3 Required sessions were available
    • 6 Pre-Recorded Electives were available
    • 4 Hot Topics were available
Each (lecture/webinar) is ~ 60 minutes. They frequently ran over when I attended

No, workload except attending and completing the feedback form. I highly recommend attending, interacting, and networking. Our cohort created a Slack group. Remember, most of the attending work is in the Congress and Senate.

The networking value alone is the real benefit!!!

Thank you so much for the feedback; I appreciate it. I applied. I am sure the certificate does not equate to any college credits, but did you find any value in your certificate or use it to benefit you?

    I doubt anyone knows about

My business card still only has my undergrad credentials on it. However , I have thought use my Mensa membership to get a Mensa business card like the "King of Tupelo" as a goof.

I certainly hope not. If so, that would be a good reason why absolutely no one else has posted their certificate except for this person. Everyone else I've seen on LinkedIn has just posted their badge.

That is exactly how mine looks

So you get only the badge likes this, not the certificate? If that is the case, I just stick with Coursera. At least I get a certificate. :)

Why is the physical certificate important? Are you going to mount it on your wall ?

No, I don't mount the certificate on the wall. But sometimes employers do ask for proof. I was once asked to provide a copy of the CISSP and PMP certificates.

I'm a Mensan too. Unfortunately my local chapter is located a several hour drive, and I haven't been out for a regional or national gathering yet. I do like the magazine though.

That piece if paper is ugly, and I wouldn't want to show it to anyone unless they asked for it.

It would seem that a lot of the value of the Univ. Penn certificate is the networking you get to do.
