I have no idea how reputable this site is, but they offer many free college level courses. The site states " is a free and open collection of college level courses. There are no registrations or fees required to take our courses, and you will earn a certificate upon completion of each course. Because we are not accredited, you will not earn a college degree or diploma; however, our team of experienced college professors has designed each course so you will be able to achieve the same learning objectives as students enrolled in traditional colleges."

I am posting this because I saw a few threads where people were looking for some sort of "acknowledgement of completion" with open courseware.

I am going to check out a few of their English comp courses to see if it will help me brush up on my college writing skills.

Forgive me if the site is not reputable. I do not know much about it, but it seems to have a lot of info.

I might be useful for those people who want to freshen up on some material for tests or their math skills. I think I'll use it to freshen up on my CSET in Math. Thanks for the info, it sounds interesting. :)

I like free things.:) I will take advantage of their Algebra (if they have any) to brush up my maths skills. It has been ages I did maths and now I must take Algebra. Thanks for posting.:)

I just took the Algebra Final Exam... I passed it with a 84% without reviewing the material. I found the test material to be fairly good and some what challenging. :)

Great courses to use for CLEP, DSST or other testing option preparation. Also useful for non-credit continuing ed purposes.

It was a great place to launch my career. This is completely on the up and up and with his presence behind it has the necessary stream of $ to get things done.

I just completed the the Financial Accounting course in less than an hour. The exam standard was ok for beginners, accounting being my forte. Even though I knew everything is free, the completion certificate is NOT aesthetically pleasing in any way. That was a bummer. Still I'm glad the coursework is there and free.

Hmmm. I'm sure many here remember how excited I was when I first started looking into ALISON courses, even eagerly suggesting that others here give them a try. Those same people must also remember just how much egg I had on my face when I tried a few of the courses and realized that they were absolutely nothing as they had seemed at first glance. Waste of time, completely :smashfreakB:

I must admit that Saylor looks very good on the surface. I'd like to believe that they are everything I imagined that ALISON was, but naturally I'd rather reserve my judgment until I try it out ("Fool me once... shame on... shame on you. Fool m- you can't get fooled again!" -G.W. Bush) which won't be for at least several months, if ever. Is anyone willing to try a course from scratch and give us a detailed review? Pweeeeeeese?!
