Found myself in a really awkward situation - Can anyone advise on transfer credits

    I would say this is likely rare. And whether failing to disclose prior study would be grounds to revoke a degree is a pretty big stretch.

    Schools have quite a bit of leeway in both revocation and withholding degrees, but if a school were to get a reputation for withholding the degree of a student, who completed all of the educational requirements for a degree, due to something that could be perceived as an "honest mistake" I can't speak for the majority, but I would definitely reconsider a decision to attend that school.

    This is an interesting article I found on the right of a school to deny a diploma. From this we can extrapolate that if a student handbook includes failing to provide all transcripts as a matter of academic dishonesty or something similar, there may be grounds.

    But the cited cases, as with the one sanantone provided, are more focused on people who were 1) failing anyway or 2) engaging in social behavior so egregious that it would be more offensive to award them the degree.
