I found this on Freerepublic.com this morning.

"Former LCCC professor, fake SEAL kills self

A former Luzerne County Community College adjunct history professor who was fired for falsifying his job application and had falsely claimed to be a Navy SEAL committed suicide in Delaware last week.

Officer Trinidad Navarro confirmed that David Silbergeld, 65, of Mountain Top, was found in Rockwood Mansion Park at about noon April 15."

"Steve Morelli has determined that Silbergeld's degrees are extremely questionable. His Ph.D. and Masters are from Columbia Pacific University, a diploma mill that was shut down in CA. There is no record of him having attended or graduating from Buffalo U, although they have a record of him registering, he never went to class there. Niagara would not release information. Most colleges are very cooperative in this regard, as they don't want people going around claiming to be alumni who are fakes."

Again, the liberal use of the words diploma mill. By most definitions, Levicoff excepted, CPU was not a diploma mill.

I could go on but why?? It's just history now.

The newspaper article does not mention Columbia Pacific, but does refer to convictions for smuggling cocaine.

I was once asked by a publisher to check the claims of an author to having been a SEAL -- the book was something to do with how to succeed in business based on SEAL philosophy.

There's a website devoted solely to exposing fake SEAL claims, and this guy was on it. So the publisher went ahead with the book, but deleted the references to the author's SEAL-hood. (The expose site, charmingly, started out with a big banner saying, "Yes, Jesse Ventura really was a SEAL!")
