I think it was portfolio... but there was an amount she paid for 30 credits around $1500...
    you're doing this for free?

    Thanks Kayausa,

I am thinking about attempting the portfolio route in the future. I am trying to figure out if it is worth the cost, since with Excelsior you have to take a 3 credit course , just to be able to create the portfolio. And then you have to pay a fee for credits attempted , regardless of them ever being granted or not.

I think maybe the portfolio assessment if a different thing then the appeal for NA credits to be accepted. On Excelsiors website they have a page that address ways to earn credit and from that it seems to me these ( NA Appeal & portfolio assessment )are two different ways of earning credit.

so I guess it's worth giving the appeal a try first... also, you should really speak to them because I know she didn't have to take that portfolio class...

ok... I spoke to her and this is what she did... her credits were in religion and education and excelsior has a diff system/program... she worked with a program that helps you... but it only works for religious and education credits... what were your classes in?

    HI Kayausa,

Thanks for getting more information on your friends process.

My degree is in Spiritual Life Coaching, the reason I took it at the unaccredited seminary/university is it was the only place I could find a degree in spiritual coaching.

Some of my classes were in Religion, some were in Psychology and some were in Counseling/Communication.

Did your friend mention the name of this program at Excelsior ? I have never read about any such program. I would love to learn more about it.

    Kayausa,

Thanks for getting me that additional information .

Based on your reply, I am thinking I will have to go the portfolio route because I am sure the school I attended does not have such an agreement with Excelsior.

I have written to Excelsior to ask about my options and am awaiting their reply.

It is a bit discouraging to see that three months later, you are still going through the appeal process with EC. Keep us posted!

    Thanks

I finally have my results in. I have been approved for the maximum credits (30).

Look for details in a new thread.
