Excelsior CIS Math Requirements?

Next week I can call Excelsior to verify, but I want to check student's personal experiences.
The Tech catalog PDF lists only one math course requirement. Either Calculus or Discrete Math.

On the other hand, my Status Report lists 2 math courses minimum, however it does not seem to specify that you take Calculus or Discrete Math (they are just two of several options).
This is from my Status Report below:

"You need to complete 2.0 Mathematics course(s) from the following list:
- Discrete Mathematics
- Calculus I
- Calculus II
- Statistics
- Quantitative Methods
- Linear Programming
- Decision Support Systems
- Logic (from either a Philosophy or a Mathematics department)"

If so, then I would want to take the two courses with the fewest prerequisites (which I assume are Logic and Statitics).

Any experience with this?

 

The Tech Catalog PDF on their web page has not been updated in quite a long time. I would stick with your status report.

If I can take any 2 of the courses listed, I think, of the choices allowed, statistics and logic would require the fewest prerequisite courses.

 

I thought that the CIS Degree required Discrete Math. ??? If I were you I would check this with Excelsior... or else you might find out that you took the wrong math course.

 

I contacted them and they said the math requirement is just as they sent me and I posted above. I can pick "any" 2 courses in the list above. Discrete math is one of the options that meet the requirements, but is not a specific requirement now. The info posted on the web site and in catalogs is not all up to date.
I'm going to take statistics and logic and cancel my plans to take discrete math.

Do you know if this information is relevant to the CIS and IT degree?

 

I don't know if the new IT degree has the same math requirements.
