Hello. I am looking at getting my doctorate and have narrowed it down to 3. A little background. I have a teaching degree and a MA in education technology. I am looking at going into administration. I am Canadian and NEED to be certified in a state for administration.

My question is how are the Ed D degrees from the 3 universities? Specifically, can someone comment on the following questions.

    1) How hard are courses at Capella? I want to take 3 a quarter but it is recommended only 2.

    2) How is the dissertation process of the 3 universities? Demanding?

    3) Is the 5 week residency at LeHigh each summer hard? Too long? How are the other uni's residencies?

    4) Does anyone have any certification experience after getting their Ed D from these universities?

Thanks everyone for any and all comments on these 3!

I recently completed service as a dissertation committee member for a Ph.D. student in Instructional Design for Online Learning at Capella U. His dissertation was as solid and rigorous as anything that I have seen from a brick & mortar university (and I have read dozens of them). He is a successful administrator at Northern Illinois University. I know several K-12, community college and university administrators who have been well-served by their Capella degrees. I also know two university administrators who are completing doctorates at Northcentral. LeHigh, of course, is a well-regarded university that would be considered the most prestigious of the three.

Sorry that I could not answer all of your questions, but I hope that this is helpful.
