    Yes, it is legitimate--the tech/vocational alternative to the trad/research TCD.

    You can check out Irish universities on this site, run by the Irish Republic's Higher Education Authority:

    As Unk says, Dublin City University is perfectly legitimate. It's a "new university", a post-secondary government-run technical school that was raised to full university status about ten or fifteen years ago.

    There is also a spurious Dublin Metropolitan University that only seems to exist on the internet and advertises in Asia, confusing people, so prospective students should be careful to verify things before they send any money.

    Just curious, does an Irish university DL degree has the same value as UK university DL degree in US/Canada? universities like University of London or University of Portsmouth etc... just a thought!
