Hi everyone - been a while....thought I'd stop by and let you all know how things are progressing. I finished up the Summer 2009 semester and I’m now 49% complete with my doctorate degree! Woot! The summer found me taking the following classes: INFS 750 Telecommunications Tech & Mgt INFS 892 Advanced Design Science Research Two good classes…I walked away from the semester with 2 A’s…even though the grade’s aren’t as important as what I’ve learned. My coursework for the Fall 2009 semester is: INFS 810 – Qualitative Research Methods INFA 713 – Managing Information Security Risks INFS 890 – Seminar In addition, I take my Comprehensive Exam this semester…that’s going to be a rough one. Current Status (September 2009) 45 hours complete 46 remaining (21 hours coursework, 25 hours dissertation) 49% complete. Coursework completion ~ Summer 2010 Dissertation completion ~2012.
Thanks! We are using a few books (about 12 listed on the reading list) but the following 2 are mandatory: Qualitative Data Analysis - Miles & Huberman Case Study Research - Yin
Great work Eric - you're certainly determined and appear to have a clear focus what lies ahead - good on you!
This is fantastic progress news, Eric. I think the last time I read your sig line you were at 10% completed, so this is a huge move forward! Best of luck to you for fall quarter and comps! Cheers, Adrienne
Congratulations Eric! Keep us up to date with your progress. I finished INFS 730 this past June which was the last course I needed for the MSIS. I plan to take the MSIS comprehensive exam this fall.
