    Dr. Gulick,

You stated in one of your posts that you wished for program in
physical science. I found this web address in an earlier post which may be of interest to you. It is loaded with online science degree programs here in the states and overseas:

    Great link, Robert! Thanks.

    The following programs interested me:

    (1) Master of Astronomy University of Western Sydney AUS

    (2) Master of Astronomy James Cook University AUS

    (3) MS Astronomy Swinburne University of Technology AUS

    (4) Doctor of Astronomy/ PhD in Astronomy James Cook University AUS

They are all in Australia. I wonder if these universities are credible? Anyone know? I know absolutely nothing about them.

One thing for sure, they are definitely expensive!! :)

The program at Western Sydney is being eliminiated. They are no longer taking new applications.

I was interested in taking the the Swinburne program just for the hell of it. It will cost you about $800 USD per course, and just over $10K USD for the entire program.

Didn't know about the Cook program, seems interesting especially since they offer doctorate programs.

John Wetsch, who posts here occasionally, has an Excelsior Bachelor's, a Nova doctorate . . . and fairly recently did a degree in astronomy by distance learning from, as I recall, the University of North Dakota. Perhaps a search here will tell more, if only how to reach Dr. Wetsch.

My wife tried out her feelings about distance learning by taking a couple of astronomy courses from Penn State, thoroughly enjoyed them, and then went on to do her MA in Humanities (philosophy) from Cal State Dominguez Hills.

I looked at the Penn State site, but didn't see any online astronomy courses. I'll have to contact them and see if they offer them.

The degree from the University of North Dakota is the MS in Space Studies. It sounds interesting, but it is designed for people in the aerospace industry -- not for geeks into theoretical physics and cosmology.

Also, the University of Central Lancashire is starting a BSc degree in astronomy. Their prices are actually very, very reasonable. So I am considering doing that program (just for fun, of course).
