Would that be Bobby Riggs' Billy Jean or Michael Jackson's Billy Jean?

    So, make up your mind.

    Ya gonna stomp'em or not?

(Guess it depends on who's doing the stomping and who's getting stomped. Always does.)

More seriously, I never watched Scott. Whenever I saw him, it was a signal to me to keep surfing.

(How anyone could say there's no God is beyond me. Somebody has to have invented the TV remote.)

But Scott always seemed to be there on some cable channel or other, doing that incomprehensible thing that he did. For decade after decade. He was like the sunrise, that way....

I'm sorry to hear about his passing.

I once proposed a Reform Jewish Televangleist Program:

"God...if there is one...we're not really SURE on that point...is going to be ANGRY...well, assuming He HAS emotions and isn't just a human created God-idea or God-ideal...if you don't SEND IN a GENEROUS contribution to spread His Word...unless you agree with us that Torah is a human document...and there's also the problem that Jews, even Reform Jews, don't proselytize...who are WE to tell you how to live..."

We gave it up for dead.

Now, don't knock the Reformed Jews. I always liked the drive-thru window at the Reformed temple. Best potato knishes in town.

    Reform. Reformed are Calvinist Christians.

I like Calvinist Christians. All five points of them.

    OH my Gawd! Jugador!

I gather from your post about Cleveland Tennessee that you liive there!! Well so do I! Cyberspace is a strange place t run into a neighbor! However, as you said the denomination that runs this town has a huge economic impact (much of it negative). I'd love to see some of their money flow into the coffers of Bradley County!

Can you get channel 66 out of Flint? (Or do you know someone who can?) If so, you can catch Dr. Scott on Sunday mornings, from 6:00 AM to 7:00 AM. Of course I know you're preparing for your own services at that time, but you could always videotape it (or have someone who can get that station do so for you). If not, let me know, I'll record a few episodes off of KRON4 out here in San Francisco and you can tell me how to get them to you.

Hey... wait a minute. Didn't I see, once, while looking at Scott's web site, that one can order videotapes and/or DVDs of his broadcasts? Of course, the problem, there, is that one would be feeding money into his coffers if one did that. Heaven forbid!

See what I mean, everyone? I'm tellin' ya'... I love this guy... not 'cause he's always right, mind you (though he often is), but because when he's wrong he does so with almost more passion. I love a guy who's always willing to auger-in in flames, no matter what! [just kiddin' around] [wink]

And, yes, Mr. Engineer, it's far better for Bush43, et al, to go to hell for getting 1,600 people killed with their lies than it is for Clinton to go to hell over lying about a hummer.

If the reader unfamiliar with Gene Scott could only know how wholly appropriate it is that this thread about him has digressed to talk about hummers.

    Oy.

I confess that Billy Graham has always been, to me at least, among the most palatable of the televangelists. I can actually envision myself feeling kinda' bad when he dies.

Ha! That's very funny. Thank you for that. [Hoo... boy... that was good.]

    OOPS!

In my previous post, I mistakenly attributed the following quote:
to janko when, in fact, I should have attributed it to Mr. Engineer. It's because when I'm replying to more than one poster's postings in a single post, I routinely copy-and-paste the vB code from the previous poster's quoted words, change the who-wrote-it part manually, and then paste-in the new quote behind it. Apparently, when I did that for the above-listed quote, in my haste, I forgot to do the manual change of the who-said-it part and made it look like janko was talking about hummers.

I could be wrong but, if I had to bet, I'd say that just about the only hummers anyone around here would ever see janko talking about would be the kind with a capital "H" that come [yes... I couldn't help myself... pun intended] in a model H1, H2, or the upcoming H3.

My sincerest apologies. I'll be more careful, and not in such a hurry, next time.
