Don't want no stinkin DL grads!

    I haven't sifted through the whole thread yet, but I will say this--

    Google doesn't usually accept grads from online schools.

    I think that's mostly 'cause they're Google and they have the option of being picky. But then, a company with a largely online presence ignoring DL grads? That's bordering on hypocritical.

    That's quite surprising. You would think Google, being a progressive company, would be one of the first to embrace DL. Do you work there or do you have another source of data?

    Almost first-hand. A number of recruiters contacted me about a position with them a year or two ago; they were adamant Google would not accept candidates with degrees from purely online institutions.

    Interesting. Nothing on their jobs site or in the qualifications sections of their currently advertised positions would suggest this.
