Does your DBA have to be AACSB accredited to land a professor job at university level in the USA?

I am currently working full-time as a lecturer at a community college in North America.
I am considering working towards my DBA. But my work load is insane. I cannot possibly do an in-person DBA.

I found a DBA at Edinburgh Business School (Heriot-Watt University) that is 100% online. While the program does seem very thorough and serious, I believe it is not AACSB accredited.

Is there any EBS Distance DBA alum here that's currently teaching full-time in a university in North America?

 

Without knowing your goal for doing a DBA, it's hard for anyone to give you any advice regarding AACSB accreditation (or a lack of it).

By the way, the workload for a distance DBA will be as "insane," as you put it, as an in-class DBA.

To answer your last question, why not use the Google? Or LinkedIn? Your chances of getting valuable information on such a niche topic is much better than polling the handful of posters here.

 

Whether distance learning or on campus, the study workloads are the same. Sometimes, distance learning program has more workload because you need an additional self-study to find information. The only advantage of distance learning is that you can study at any time that does not require on-campus lecture attendants. A college degree does not guarantee employment, so doing a DBA without AACSB is risker than the one with AACSB accreditation. Maybe, a Ph.D. in Business Administration with AACSB is safer.

As some said, it is possible to get a full time faculty with this DBA but there is no guarantee.
