Nope, not me! My hubby. We just finished reviewing his contract for next year and his ranking info - he'll rank up next year without additional education, but that's the ceiling for him- no professor title without his doctorate, so I am starting some preliminary research for him now. Timing-wise, I think he'll have to enroll soon - maybe just after Christmas- to hit eligibility for the next promotion cycle, which should give him about 5 1/2 -6 years to finish. I'm 0% jealous. He has an MBA, and his colleagues with full professorship have EdDs so that is likely the path he'll take. If anyone has a new favorite or a school catching your attention lately, throw it my way.
University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign - Ed.D. in Human Resource Development Lehigh University - Ed.D. Educational Leadership Drexel University - Ed.D. in Educational Leadership and Management University of Nebraska - Ed.D. in Educational Studies (Educational Leadership & Higher Education) Regent University - Ed.D. in Higher Education Leadership & Management St. Thomas University - Ed.D. in Leadership and Innovation
Illinois - HR not the right specialization Lehigh - (Online) - We are currently not accepting applications to this program. Drexel- 80k Nebraska- 72k Regent - he teaches at a secular university, not a good match St. Thomas - 49k STRONGLY leaning toward ACE, especially at only $24k.
I like UIUC because of its prestige and affordability. I recommended HR because based on his MBA, I assumed he's a business faculty. Lehigh and Drexel are nicely ranked and both located in my state, so I'm a bit biased lol. The others weren't really favorites but I think St. Thomas' program especially kinda have a management focus even though its an Ed.D. I didn't recommend my current school, Liberty U. because like Regent, it is a Christian school with a conservative reputation that I despise. I attended ACE's Ed.D. for one sub-term. It was a great experience. However, I withdrew because of a lack of financial aid.
Marshall University's 45-credit online Ed.D. in Leadership Studies is only about 18K: https://www.marshall.edu/muonline/files/2015/11/Ed.D.-Flyer-.pdf I am a graduate of their MA program and had a great experience. If I wasn't already pursuing a doctorate elsewhere at the time I graduated, I probably would have enrolled in this Ed.D. Hard to beat the price/respectable school ratio, IMO.
