So, let me get this straight. Are you promoting political commentary from Noam Chomsky? That puts you left-of-center among Bernie Sanders fans. I didn't get this vibe off you before.

Context: Yeltsin's main competition in Russia was the Communist Party. Want these guys to win? And, yeah, Clinton administration was silent when Yeltsin, fearing Communist backlash, created the oligarchs by privatizing state industries for peanuts, to well -connected insiders. Very much including Oleg Deripaska, and also prof. Boris Beresovsky - who recruited and promoted young former spy Vladimir Putin. Putin would go on to destroy and murder his benefactor. US Presidents from Reagan to George W Bush ignored the corruption in the name of fighting Communism. Turned out to be a mixed blessing at best. Not sure what it has to to with Russian elections meddling.

    This isn't about me.

    Reagan was out of office.

Of course not. You spread left-wing version of Putin propaganda for the further greatness of your country.
Are you telling me Reagan didn't condone criminality in the name of fighting Communism? Hm. Iran-Contras? Also, out of office during what? Reagan's second term is Perestroyka time. Yeltsin was young and charismatic Communist Party reformer, visited United States in 1989 (right after Reagan's term), and got elected to the Supreme Soviet that same year. It would be hard for Reagan to "meddle in Russia's elections" before that time because 1989 was literally the first ones where alternative candidates were tolerated (still heavily slanted to favor Communists). You can bet anything Bush the 1st`s very Yeltsin-friendly stance was direct continuation of Reagan`s policies. On its face, not unreasonable ones, on balance. Except the Chicken Kiev speech.

You're like a 'D' student in Propaganda 101. All you know is digression.

Sure thing, man. Unlike Manafort's partner Kilimnik, I didn't attend Order of the Red Banner Academy of the General Staff of USSR Armed Forces. Top notch school, that.
It does not take a genius to see that the article you cited represents Kremlin position. Down to the 1921-vintage technique of using Western intellectuals as "useful idiots".

Oh BTW: even the article itself does not support conclusion that "Clinton manipulated Russian elections". More like "Yeltsin used the Red Scare to swindle some favourable loans out of Clinton". You don't need secret tapes to know that: the "reformers" did that quite openly around that time. Did that to Bush, Clinton, and another Bush; others like them did the same to Reagan and probably Nixon, too. "Clinton manipulated Russian elections" is an internal Russian myth which I'm afraid Putin actually believes; it's both a pretext and an actual reason for the "hybrid warfare" they now wage with the West. With your minor help.
