    Hi all,

I am looking for some help. I am a candidate for a Master's of Management with an IT concentration at Eastern Nazarene College, and have chosen the subject of student progress in distance education programs to fulfill my thesis requirement. My objective is to perform a quantitative test of David
Kember's model of student persistence in distance education. The original
study was presented in his 1995 book entitled "Open Learning Courses for
Adults: A Model of Student Progress."

In order to get a good sample for my study, I would like to survey approximately 100 adults currently enrolled in distance education degree programs. However, I am having difficulty finding a potential pool of
candidates to whom I can administer the survey and am quickly falling behind!

The survey is posted online at http://people.ne.mediaone.net/angrisano/survey.htm

    Please take a look and
fill it out. If you know of any institutions that would be willing to
    participate, let me know!

Any help the group can offer would be greatly appreciated!

I would have thought that almost all of the major distance learning schools would have been happy to make your survey known to their students and alumni. Have you asked? More than 500 are listed in my book. Excelsior, Charter Oak, Edison, Athabasca, and Open U (UK) are probably the largest in DL. Good luck.

John offers some good advice. I recently approached several DL schools and they were more than willing to put me in contact with current and former students. It's clearly to their benefit to do so and they realize this.
