First of all, that Russian connection doesn't really exist. The ringleader's girlfriend contacted the Russian embassy in Germany, but the Russians never reacted.

And then of course there are two more important questions:

1) Would this group actually have been able to overthrow the current German government? The answer is a clear NO! That group lacked both manpower and weapons for it.

and then

2) Would this group have been able to do great harm? - Absolutely yes! What these people planned would probably have meant the end of dozens of lives.
