Can anyone give me some positives or negatives around Davenport university, I can't seem to find much. Looking at pursuing a bachelors in buisness and am also considering U of W-Platteville and Liberty. I want a more traditional name, some of the online schools just don't sound credible. Thanks in advance.
Ive heard of Davenport College, but not Davenport University. If your looking for a big name school I'd start with an online degree from a state school in your state. If not there then I would look at: Indiana University, UMASS- Amherst, Colorado State, or Virginia Tech, just to name a few. There are many great schools with online busness degrees, you dont have to settle for less name power if you dont want to.
Davenport College has become Davenport University, a regionally accredited school with centers all over Michigan. There are literally hundreds of options for one in your situation, staying only with regionally accredited schools. Some are found on the search engine here at DegreeInfo, some on Gus' site, many in the book my daughter and I write on these matters. Shopping around makes excellent sense: for price, for time, for academic model (all exams; no exams; etc.), and, of course, for name. But bear in mind there are excellent schools with names many people don't like (Excelsior has been much discussed in this forum) and terrible schools with excellent names (Columbia State University). Llexion: Thanks for the information. I think that I will probably go with either DePaul or UMass. John: Good choices, as long as it is the real DePaul, and not the fake one that was run by the Fowler Brothers from Chicago (probably out of business).
