Middle Georgia State University will be offering a Doctor of Science (D.Sc.) in Public Safety starting Spring 2024. https://www.mga.edu/education-behavioral-sciences/doctorate-public-safety/index.php I'm not sure if the tuition will be $301 (Graduate online tuition rate). If so, it would cost approximately 17k for the program. https://www.mga.edu/bursar/tuition-fees/graduate-tuition-fees.php They are hiring an assistant/associate professor who will serve as program director. https://careers.hprod.onehcm.usg.edu/psc/careers/CAREERS/HRMS/c/HRS_HRAM_FL.HRS_CG_SEARCH_FL.GBL?Page=HRS_APP_SCHJOB_FL&Action=U
Interesting choice of the DSc. I assume they didn't want to do PhD because it's practitioner-based research. Are you going to apply as Program Director? You'd be a shoe-in with your LE background, PhD and the rest of your CV.
I wondered too. But I noticed that their other doctorate (IT) is a D.Sc. as well. I would only apply if they would let me work from Kenya But no, I don't think anyone can offer me anything better than a tenure-track position at an R2 institution, working fully remotely.
