Hello all; I am looking for options for a friend of mine with the following criteria:

Associates Degree in Computer programming, starting from scratch, 0 credits.
    Regionally accredited
No residency, and preferrably no synchronous portions.

Cost is a factor, but not 100% of the factor. He lives rurally, so a CC isn't available.

I would suggest your friend investigate degrees from Excelsior or TESC.

Earning the general education and free elective credit hours either by testing out (CLEP, DANTE, DSST) or distance education through, say, Louisiana State University (LSU) or Clovis Community College (CCC) is probably among the cheapest routes. Then enroll at the school from which you want to earn the associate degree to complete the computer programming courses, usually 15-18 credit hours.

Metropolitan Community College, Omaha, Nebraska, Information Technology Associate in Applied Science Degree in Database/Web Programming (ITDWO) - (Word Document), 104 quarter credit hours, $64.50 + $5/credit hour (out-of-state), $7,228.

Rio Salado College Online (Maricopa Community College District), Tempe, AZ, Associate of Applied Science in Computer Technology w/certificate in programming, 64 semester credit hours, $174/credit hour (out-of-state), $11,136.

In which state resides this friend? There may exist cheaper options at colleges in the state where this friend lives.
