Amazing. You post a statement that over 50% of convicted felons register as Democrats, providing as evidence a scholarly paper the major conclusion of which is that 90% of convicted felons don't register at all. Should I take it as evidence that Republicans attract the lowest common denominator, that is, pathological liars, or turn people into liars in some kind of indoctrination campaign? It looks more and more plausible by the hour. Also, there's anecdotal evidence that neo-Nazis vote Republican.
When minorities are routinely arrested for things that white people are not, e.g., black Americans are incarcerated at a rate five times that of white ones, it's hardly surprising that the major party they prefer would have more felonious members. (Now, whether that party deserves their support, well, that's an entirely different matter.)
You said 61% of convicted felons register to vote Democrat. The link you provided show that around 90% of convicted felons do not register to vote at all. Ergo, you lied. And you continue to lie every time you try to deny this: every time you post in this thread without acknowledging the initial lie. If the company you keep turns you into a compulsive liar, well, maybe they're not your friends.
Way to cut to the chase! Slow. Clap. As to which party deserves support: first, perhaps voters know best. Second, this is the thing with representative democracy: you mostly pick from what's on offer. Like here in Ontario, Liberal party is mired in screw-ups and petty corruption of the sort they falsely accuse Democrats down south, and they field an MPP in our riding whom I despise. OTOH, Progressive Conservatives just elected Rob Ford to Leader. Thus, I'm reduced to either voting while suppressing major gag reflex, or third party. Alternative would be joining the riding association and trying to effect change that way, but who has the time?
