Even electricians are not regulated in vast parts of the country. In Upstate New York anyone can be an electrician. Want to be an electrician? Buy some business cards and start doing electrical work. Our licensing here is city based on not every city has a license. Those that do, it's usually a "pay the fee" sort of license rather than one testing proficiency.

But, at the end of the day, the key issue here is that there is no such thing in the U.S. as a "college diploma" that isn't an academic degree. PF offers a diploma program in a system where diploma program refers traditionally only to a high school. Like you said, you don't need it. The majority of these jobs can be had through an entry level program.

That said, if it helps you study for pharmacy tech certification or the test in one of the few states that license for it? Go for it. It's cheap enough to justify the expense compared to schools like Everest charing $20k for the same. But RA doesn't make a lick of difference here.
