Competitive Intelligence

Hi guys,

I am looking for an online course (not taking it for credit) or maybe a professor's web-page with lecture notes (a flash presentation would be ideal) on competitive intelligence...

Any help would be appreciated. I am trying to learn the techniques and theory behind CI just for personal development...

When I plugged "competitive intelligence" into Google I got a few more than 2 million pages. I guess you could start there.

Here is a company site offering free online CI courses.

Since you are in Ontario, check out the offerings at the University of Toronto's Professional Learning Centre. Thet offer IT certificate courses from the Faculty of Information Studies that includes a CI course. WEB base and reasonable cost. See:

You're right Jack, and just imagine sifting through all that information... I asked on this forum because I knew someone must have done (or knows well about) a course in CI, or might even teach the subject.

Try googeling with:

"competitive intelligence" .pdf site:edu

(the quotes around "competitive intelligence" will limit it some what, the .pdf will limit it to files with that extension and the site:edu will only search educational site).

Reduced the hits to 1,650 with first one being the Loyola College site

There have been some excellent responses on this thread, and the referral to SCIP at http://www.scip.org was good advice. Also, Drexel University has online courses in CI as part of a graduate certificate in competitive intelligence.
