Does anyone know of a online college algebra course that is just a single semester worth of credit? Was looking for a school offering and not ALEKS. I am very weak in math, but I only need a single credit hour to graduate. Your help here is very much appreciated. Thanks....
David, How about this? UWC Online - College Algebra University of Wisconsin. It's a state school so it should not be too expensive. I'm not sure about residency requirements. Kr, Mike
Clovis offers College Algebra (Math 110) 3-units in the Summer. Tuition is $184. The issue with many college math classes is that there are often prerequisites. Why not study for and take the DSST or CLEP test? http://www.getcollegecredit.com/downloads/factsheets/Fund%20of%20College%20Algebra_20080509.pdf http://www.collegeboard.com/student/testing/clep/ex_ca.html
I agree; a CLEP would be the least expensive way to go. There are several online tutor services that could help you get through the math, since you say that you are not that great at it. SmartThinking.com is one good tutorial service that is used by my school.
Thanks everyone for the input. There are a ton of 3 credit hour courses out there that would satisfy this requirement. I was really looking for just a single hour course. Trying to take the minimal required to graduate... Though I suspect that I will need more math as I progress into my BA. Having a tutor help me through the CLEP exam may be a good idea. It has been so long since I have done any Algebra that it would be like starting over in High School... Ugh..
Mr. Anderson: You very well may be correct. However, there is no better place to ask the question than here on DegreeInfo... If one is out there, chances are someone here knows about it!
