    Hi ,

I have over 5 years of work experience in an MNC ,in India. I recently moved to the Bay Area. I am currently on h4 visa therefore finding a job is next to impossible in this case. Hence i was thinking of getting back to studies and educate myself and gain some knowledge about the professional world in US. I am ideally looking at a one year accelerated MBA progs as i already hold a BBA-MBA integrated degree back in India. Now i have looked at few universities in the Bay Area, and most of the universities are either far or expensive or needs 4 years of education after the 12th grade whereas i have 3 years of bachelors degree (for ex. California east bay - located in Oakland, San jose state univ needs 4 yrs of education, University of Santa Clara - beyond 77,000$). Golden Gate is expensive too but its within 45000$, but it offers a cohort structure which allows me to finish my education in 16 months time . I am a little confused here as i dont know how good the investment will be as the college is not yet AACSB accredited. I need to know how good the university is .. and whether its worth the investment. Also there are these certification courses offered by UCSC , they too give an option to get on to OPT after one and half years of completion of the courses. But i dont know much are the certifications valued over a deegree in this country.. and then there is another college called Saint Mary's University..guys can u help me with some reviews to take a decision.. or any other option which you think can be suitable for me.

    Thanks !

Frankly, to me...I do not believe in certificate programs from colleges/universities. If you have an MBA from a legit school from India, I don't think a certificate would add much values to your credentials. Also, I am not sure if a second MBA makes any difference. Have you thought about doing DBA program or Ph.D program? If you prefer distance learning with little residency; there are plenty of schools offer that route: Capella University, Walden University, Jones International University, Northcentral University (non-residecy), and more. At least when you move back to India, you can be a Business College professor.

I believe you have an integrated MBA which is 3+2 years...right? In that case. it's definitely comparable (or more than) a 4-year US Bachelor's degree.
I would suggest going for an educational evaluation first. Most colleges accept WES evaluation, so it might be worth spending ~$200 to know where you stand at.
If you want to go on OPT ultimately, then you have no choice but to choose a brick&mortar school. If doing online is not a problem, you may consider Western Governor's University - it's RA, completely online, self-paced, well-respected and dirt cheap (about $3000 per six months flat).

    Hi,

Ya i do have an MBA which is 3+2 , but unfortunately they aint accepting that degree anywhere since it was done from a private institution in India which is not recognized by the government. Thankfully i had also done B.Com thru distance education and they are accepting that degree...but thanks for reaching out .:)

Can you share the school name where you did your MBA? Only if you are willing.
