Do I have to take the Accuplacer Exam if I'm just enrolling for 6 credits? Also are this classes at your own pace online?

You only have to take the Accuplacer if you are taking an English or Math course. Classes are NOT at your own pace. You have weekly assignments, etc.

I tried to Apply to Clovis and the only semester available is "Spring", Also I do not see a list to the online courses offered. Maybe their Spring semester has not started yet? I had my mind set on the Summer semester.

Spring semester is well on its way at Clovis. If you call the school (they have great customer service), they should tell you when the summer schedule will be available.

It is so funny to see you guys hold CCC in such high esteem. <--Don't take that too literally. ;-) My wife and I both grew up in that town and while we were there we never quite saw the value of that school (as many of the residents don't today). My kids dread visiting there every summer, too. Now that we're older and have moved away I constantly encourage my wife to finish the degree that she started there...I guess that's the value of getting older - normally/hopefully you become wiser, too.

Funny! A college recruiter just visited the high school I work in regularly. She asked the kids what they thought about community college, some sucked their teeth, some laughed and some boo'd. Most of those kids aren't even going to college either.

My little brother expressed dismay at the fact that "nobody" accepts AP for credit. I almost faited in my surprise and asked what he meant so he said "Yale." I starred at him blankly. He really seems to think that onle one school in the world exists. As if 99.999999% of all people who have ever lived had meaningless lives because they didn't get into an ivy league school.

Frankly, I blame school faculty. Since college worked for them, they expect college to work for others- and be the prime means for having a decent life. Of course, they also buy into the college name game. *vomits*

    Hey Abner!

I'm either at work, church, spending time with the family or studying and so it's hard to find time to do much else. I'll be finished soon though and will be elated at having more free time. How have you been? How are your studies?

    Maniac,

I think Community Colleges are great. Regular universities are not for everyone and many learn that the hard way. My children are all UT and OU fans but they're not putting in the work currently to be able to survive at either of those schools so I encourage them to try our local community college. The cost is $33.00 a credit hour and it seems to be working its way towards becoming a 4 year college. They frown up whenever I mention the school but...they'll come around eventually.

    Bdev,

I am glad you are doing well. CCU is a great school. I have been well thanks. I am currently finishing up my last and final project for my MBA, the capstone. I hope to be done in 5/10.

Remember that whole THECB fiasco? I am sure glad that is done and over with, what a victory!

    See ya,

    Abner :)
